Marriage Enrichment

This series of four sessions helps married couples strengthen their marriage. Participants use the Prepare and Enrich Inventory to explore the dynamics of their relationship. Marriage Enrichment is facilitated by one of our state licensed counselors. Call (920) 886-9319 for information.

Clergy Coaching

Coaching is a proven method to enhance clergy performance. It can help clergy and other professionals increase their confidence, clarify their vision and lead their organizations more successfully.

Clergy Groups

Facilitated groups support clergy members and train them to be more effective leaders.

  • Colleague Groups (support and consultation)
  • Leadership Groups (spiritual and educational)

Premarital Counseling

This series of four sessions helps couples prepare for marriage and improve marital satisfaction. Participants use the Prepare and Enrich Inventory to explore the dynamics of their relationship through the lens of family background and personality traits. Premarital counseling is facilitated by one of our state licensed counselors.

Educational Presentations, Workshops and Retreats

We lead a variety of presentations and workshops as well as facilitate staff retreats.

Congregation Assistance Program (CAP)

The Congregation Assistance Program acts like an EAP for congregations, offering a confidential time for reflection, processing, and discernment for lay leaders, staff, and rostered laity facilitated by one of our licensed therapists.

Doug coordinates Samaritan’s clergy coaching, clergy colleague groups, spiritual direction, pre-marital counseling and congregation consultation. He served for more than 20 years in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) as an associate pastor, solo pastor, mission developer, associate with the bishop, pastoral candidacy director, mission director, senior pastor and pastoral internship supervisor. He also consulted in the areas of visioning, leadership and staff development, mission development and re-development, conflict resolution, and stewardship. He is a certified Healthy Congregations Facilitator as well as a graduate of the Grace Institute of Spiritual Formation.
